The day the boy you loves asks you to marry him.
As all girls know, this is something we have probably dreamed about since about age 5.
What type of ring? What will he say? Will I be surprised?
The number of thoughts that go on in our heads are endless.
Especially in my head, because I'm only slightly crazy and over think most things.
Okay, everything.
Then, I start to worry about if I will like the ring.
What would happen if I didn't and I couldn't hide it?
Because you all know, I wear my expressions right on my face.
Cue the eye roll or tears.
I blame someone in my family for this. Not sure who, but when I figure it out, I'll let ya know.
Good thing I found just the right guy, who takes all this with a smile.
And an adorable dimple or two.
Mmmmmm.
Dan surprised me with a night out at the Woodmark Yacht Club in Kirkland, just across the lake from Seattle.
He even upgraded us to a lake view room.
What a good guy!
We then had dinner and drinks at a fantastic place in the hotel.
Bin on the lake.
Oh my god.
This food was AMAZING.
No night is complete without a little vino.
Or a lot of vino!
Great food, great conversation and an even greater guy.
How can you not love those dimples?
And he was even sneaky.
Made me wait until a full day later for our engagement!
It was Sunday night, we had relaxed all day and he asked me if I wanted to take a walk down by the water.
I should have been surprised when he asked ME to go on a walk.
This is always the other way around.
Always.
So, I threw my hair up, grabbed my fleece and we headed outside.
There happened to be a beautiful sunset.
Dan got down on one knee and popped the question.
Of course I said "yes!"
Don't ask me what he said in his speech because I can't remember.
I just remember being unbelievably happy.
And I think that's good enough.
And he couldn't have done a better job on my ring!
I'd say he's a keeper!
